Some on here will remember my long-time (kinda) buddy Dicky Donut completing the fine restoration of:

Not content with this fine achievement, he's now gone out and acquired the fine beauty pictured alongside:

It's an early '50s Leyland 'Comet 90'
Powered by the strong little Leyland O.350 diesel and with a vacuum-operated Eaton 2-speed diff; these were regarded as the 'bees knees' by the road haulage fraternity at that time.
Whilst at a local vintage show recently, the elder of our grandsons took an instant liking to Dicky's latest acquisition, and asked for a peek under it's bonnet. A proud Dicky duly obliged the young chap's request, with me explaining the functions of the componentry on an engine that I'm very familiar with.
Imagine the expression on Mr Donut's face when I pointed-out the (almost) failed pump-drive discs! :o
"You're talking bo**ocks" says he ... "If you want to sort a Leyland, then you need a Leyland man" says I ... and duly got charged with the task of sourcing/replacing the said discs as per:

Four of the six discs fractured

Pump-drive assembly rebuilt and ready for refitting

An hour or so later and we're up and running! :y :y :y

Ah, that's what it is :y was wondering as it didn't look like the usual 60/70s fare...

Excellent :y
Is that smeared blood on the photo of pump drive ready for refitting? :o

It's a short wheelbase 6x4 K-series tipper with Perkins V8 engine, Keith ;)
It's now been sold ... according to the unreliable Mr Donut ... ::)

Could well have been Dicky's, Varche ... after I'd clouted him for losing one of the disc collets! >:(
Fortunately, he's got a well-equipped workshop, and he soon turned a replacement on his lathe. Perfect fit too, fair play! :y
Then it was grub time, with freshly-baked pasties and tea from his bakery! :y :y :y
