Title: Heated seats not working
Post by: conalnugent on 16 September 2015, 12:06:43
She's a 2000 2.5td elite.

Memory seats and electric motors all work fine but the front heated seats don't.  The light on the switches don't light up.

I'll assume it's either the switches pr the actual heated pads within the seat but this is merely a guess. Anyone know any better? Or of a way of checking before I start unnecessarily pulling stuff apart.

Thanks

Heater wiring is separate to airbag and motor looms... so check plugs and fuses first :y

A bit of plastic stripping this morning. Anyways got the 2 covers off the front seats. The drivers side was all tidy and clicked in as it should be. No nicked wires or anything unplugged.

Passenger side was a little untidy. The wee plastic harness thing wasn't clipped onto anything and I found 1 plug that seems to go to nothing. Other than that all wiring looked in good condition. What's this yellow plug for?

Problem solved and heated seats working. Checked every fuse in the box and one was blown. Symbol was a toe bar. Changed it and seats working. Bit odd ball bit won't complain.

Case closed and thanks guys for the help.

Lol never knew you could get dealer approved child seats.

Quick question whilst on topic of youngster seats...... is it legal to have a front facing child seat in the front? Was an issue my evil ex tried to whoop my ass over.

Nope, unless passenger airbag is immobilised

Is there a handy way of disabling it without the authorised car seat?

Aragh. Just figured out. Driver seat working and passenger seat isn't.  The Button on the dash is lighting up ok but just no heat. What colour is the wires from the heated pads that go into the wee plastic harness so I can get the multi meter on them. Thanks
