Title: crank sensor
Post by: annihilator on 18 September 2015, 19:55:09
Just had a non genuine crankshaft sensor fail after only 18 months with less than 1500 miles covered.  >:( However it had a 2yr. warranty so got a free replacement 8) and will probably buy a genuine one and keep the non gen. as a spare.

That's why OOF advise is genuine for some items but pattern for others, only advise genuine where it's really needed.  :y

However, are you sure it was rooted well enough away from the exhaust?

Was aware genuine is recommend but wasn't an option at the time.I'm as sure as i could be it was routed away from heat sources but this time I've used the foil protector off the original failed unit to extend/double insulate the new one.
