Water is collecting in the passenger rear footwell, blocked vent I assumed.
No there is nothing in the heater air intake, the vent plug at the bottom is missing & the resulting hole is clear.
The pollen filter is dry.
The water appears to be coming from the heater vent under the seat as it is wet.
The car isn't loosing coolant & the water i've got out of the carpet is relatively clean.
Where else can it get in to the vent system?

Door seals :-\

Has the car been parked on an incline of any significance since you noticed this happening? Might give a better indication as to where the water is coming from? :-\

No the car hasn't been parked on a hill or anything other than level ground.

Door seals :-\
The n/s rear door was replaced 14 months ago but the water ingress has only just manifested itself in the last two weeks.
I'll have to get someone to put a hose on it while I sit inside, the carpet does seem to be wetter in the heater duct area.

Look underneath the car, on the 2.2 I had a very odd hole underneath. I think from a drain plug used at build maybe? But it was missing, meaning water from outside could come inside the car.

I sealed it with some araldite some years ago

That's a paint drain :y Sealing with a rubber plug was/is the most effective way of sealing it without damaging the paint, which in turn prevents rusting of the hole :y

Always wondered what happend to it, no damage or marks suggesting it was ripped off. :-\
Guessing they forgot to put it in!

maybe it's just an over-excited passenger? ::)

We've just had a shower of fairly heavy rain, on first inspection nothing had got in to the car.
After less than a mile home there is a clear trail of water emanating from the LH side of the heater duct under the passenger seat.
As the intake is clear with no rubber valve at the bottom how on earth can it get into the heater ducts?

My thoughts would a leak or something amiss around the scuttle / pollen filter area :-\

Might be worth checking your sunroof drains (if you have one).
I have the same problem, water passenger footwell, and not blocked scuttle drain, but I discovered recently that the sunroof doesn't always close tight at the front edge, so I only occasionally find a leak.
I should really get around to investigating it.

What about the bulkhead where the pollen filter sits on the passenger side - Mine was blocked and filled with water upto the grommet where the wiring loom passes through bulkhead.
You'll be surprised how much water is in there !
Lift the plastic cover up and get a small hand down to the bottom and clean the crud, it will flow out very fast !! :)

I'm pretty sure the OP covered that in the original post. :y

Hope the pollen filter is dry or he'll be carrying a swimming pool around ;D
