Hello all! My 2.2 petrol omega has a slight oil leak. I'm not entirely sure where the leak is coming from but its dripping onto the back of the exhaust manifold and burning off causing smoke to appear from the bonnet. It occurs when the car is idling a few minutes after start up. There is no blue smoke coming out of the exhaust and when I went to change the spark plugs the other day, there was about a 8-10mm deep pool of oil in each spark plug well. There wasn't any oil in the actual cylinder just above the spark plug itself. I've replaced the oil with slightly thicker oil and added some Redex seal rejuvenation fluid as well as soaking up all of the oil in the spark plug wells and changing the plugs themselves. Some of the rubber covers that go over the spark plugs have broken slightly but not massively. Since the service the oil is still burning and if anything it's slightly worse. Any ideas? Could it be the rocker gasket cover? Thanks.

Yes the cam cover has gone :y
On the 2.2, it's a lovely little job with loads of room/access. If you don't mind spinning a few spanners.
I made a guide here with part numbers and details: http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=90597.0 (http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=90597.0)
It's worth making sure the breather system is clear and the oil is not really old, as those combined build up the pressure and cause the gasket to fail.

Ah wonderful thank you so much!! Does the guide include how to clean the breather system as well?
