Ive got a big patch of oil stains on the block paved driveway from past leaky cars engine oils . What is the best product on the market to get this cleaned up ? Or any concoctions/potions diy mix that would do it :-\
-
Its probably soaked in, so probably re-lay...

Just park your incontinent Omega over the oily patch then nobody will see it! ;) ;D

Driveway has been cleaned of all the moss dirt ect from inbetween the blocks but just this oily patch left. Anyone used that Gunk driveway cleaner :-\ Does look like its soaked into the blocks so maybe replace at 30p a block , only need about 20 .

This old banger is leak free after a new crank seal was fitted :)

I never did get round to trying bleach at my old house.
I did park the car over the stain when it came to the inspection, but the neighbourhood it was in, you could have set the carport ablaze and it wouldn't have stood out...

Same applies then and the good news is that the oily patch won't get any bigger. :y Until you buy another banger that is! ;D

Block pavers are concrete so porous, the oil soaks into them so it never truly gets rid of it.
Beware of some driveway cleaners as they contain brick acid which will attack the cement in the concrete.
Your best bet is a strong detergent or, lift the affected ones and turn them over (but beware as they will look different because the other issue with block pavers is they fade and wear as the colouring in them is a dye and not natural)

Problem with that is that they`re not reversible due to the chamfer on the face side

Daft as it may sound, have you tried a spray oven cleaner? It is, after all, a detergent, and that will break down oil. I have used it to good effect many times on engine oil and other grease in the engine bay. Never tried it on anything porous, but worth a walk into the kitchen to find out.

Just brush used engine oil over the rest of them ,seeemples :D :D ;)

No worries....give me your address and I'll send a couple of me pikey mates round and they 'might' do it or they 'might' take your cash and disappear!! :o Kushti bak (good luck) ;)

Go out and piss on it now and again! :y

Cellulose thinners works very well on oil to thin it out, then a detergent then a jet spray, should remove most if not all the stain.... worked on my concrete driveway anyway :)
-
WITH CAUTION!! preferably with a fire extinguisher close by.....learnt this one when I worked at Santa Pod. oil on the track was dealt with a drop of petrol on the oil, fired up and stood WELL back! until it burnt itself out. Safe and hellfty don't allow it any more....used be nice and toasty on a cold day :)
