On the news now that Dennis Healey has passed away aged 98.Not a bad innings I suppose.
-
Indeed, 98 is a great age .....
-
Not a bad effort by any measure, politics notwithstanding :y
-
Just read that thought he had died a few years ago he was an MP for Leed's for 40 odd years
-
Good innings for the old boy.
I also thought he had passed away a few years ago :-[

RIP.
-
RIP.A good innings.

I always remember his 'squeeze the rich till the pips squeak' speech.
1978 ...I think.
I couldn't imagine anyone from Tory Blair's era saying such a thing. ::)
-
He denied ever saying it though. :-\
He held the record as Britains worst ever chancellor for a long time, until Gordon Brown came along and challenged him for the title.
I wouldn't like to say which one did more damage. It would be too close to call. :)

As he was responsible for my piss-poor RAF pension, I have mixed feelings. :-X
