Hi all,
Whilst trying to solve why my battery goes flat ( new battery ) I have found this thing tucked up and screwed to the passenger footwell.
I assume by the label, it is something to do with a phone. What would it be connected to. There is a little black thing which I think is a phone mike on the roof lining.
There are also two wires attached to the battery which are obviously added. They are protected by a 2amp fuse on each wire.
Would all this lot be associated.

Looks like a speaker to me, so it will be connected to phone / handsfree unit.

May have to leave it till Wycombe next Saturday, for you to be able to see what needs doing :y

Well by the numbers it says its a hf-5 which is the control box for the ck5-Bluetooth, if so all you need is the control wheel and mike. :)

It's a secret government bugging device, and removing it is illegal.
What you do is install VW software ;)

That's a speaker from a Nokia Cark91 car kit or earlier. The control box will be tucked up by the glove box under the panel

On looking at the piccy again, with better eyes, my first assumption was incorrect. It is indeedee, a hf-s, not hf-5, yup a ck-91.
they can be bluetoothed with an adapter, which goes into the cradle, if,they are still available.

Sorry that original picture was out of focus.
It is HFS-12. As you reckon its to do with a phone, there are two extra wires connected to the battery terminals, one pos, one neg, which go to a connector which incorporates two 2 amp fuses. I have now charged the battery full, and pulled these two fuses. As there are no other bits added on inside the car, I am going to assume that this wiring is associated.
As I said earlier, maybe someone at Wycombe will be able to shed more light :y
