My missus has decided the next car for her is a Nova. We've both always had a soft spot for them, the engine bay alone compared with a certain rear-wheel drive V6 lady I might mention would be frankly joyous to work on. Be great to work on a dinkier version of the Mk II/III cavs engine that I remember from my childhood.
Basically we're looking for one of those 55k from new, 2 owners, any trim level, unused spare in the boot, etc.. for £500, type of car. 8) Of course everything's a compromise, and of course we're most likely not going to find a rust-free example with all the aforementioned. But as with Pissy the V6, she'd be never leaving the family, so the better the condition and the less work to be done in the longrun the better. It's a keeper, not for bodging through every MoT, kind of car.
So, if everyone would be kind enough to 'put the feelers out' just in case one comes in as a trade-in, or your neighbour has had one sat in the garage for the last 5 years etc.. please let us know.
You've probably guessed, but a chavved GTE or SR is not what we're looking for, a white 1.0 in poverty spec is literally ideal for our purposes. :) Thanks in advance chaps!

For a minute there I thought you meant one of these: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automotive_Design_and_Development#
Then I realised you meant Vauxhall Nova and were quite clearly mad ;) (although there is one knocking about here, first one I've seen in ten years probably!)

haha, Noooo, after one of these... :y

500 quid for a 50k, 2 owners from new?, good ones are collectors now, probably getting close to x4 that price.
I picked one up for one of my Sons about 10 years back, Brown Merit, done about 28k, little 4 speed thing, interior looked like just come out of the factory, external wasn't too bad, clean, paid £200 for it from a local Garage how did a trade in and just wanted his money back. Think it lasted about 3 months before Council / DVLA destroyed because he lost interest in it. ::)

Sold my father in laws G reg merit when he died a few years back, bought it new always garaged 28,000 miles & no rot anywhere £400 .Have to say it was the most uncomfortable car I've ever driven. The reg was G 344 MEG the plate might have been worth a couple of hundred to a Megan.

Found a minter, 30-something for a grand. No visible rust, or signs of recent repair/flashovers. Fair trek to get it, but we're looking into it. :)

The only one that I know of:

I work at Essex University in Colchester so it will be in the local area. They say they are second owners and have owned it for the past twenty years
