hi people, the small breather pipe from cam cover, to throttle body is disconnected. can anyone inform me how this would affect the engine. up to now, the motor seems to run ok. reason for disconnect is the short metal pipe, extending from side of cam cover, has broken off. would the most straight forward fix be, to obtain another cam cover from a breaker? in anticipation, thank you all.

Don't have much knowledge of the 4 pot engine . . . but ,the small pipe is there for a reason , so best bet & easiest, cheapest option would be to just get a replacement good condition cam cover IMO :y

thanks AL, yup, seems to be the best way forward. have a nice day.

Alternatively a piece of metal tube of the correct OD could be inserted in place of the snapped off part.
-
Does the snapped off small pipe leave a hole into the cam cover? That can't be good, constitutes a major air leak. Yes, get a good cam cover from a breaker.

I presume this is on a 2.0 X20XEV engine...?
The small breather is there for a reason, there are 2 on the cam cover. The larger 1 needs to go to the throttle body - but all it does is breath oil into it, the smaller 1 needs to be connected otherwise the pressures that get built up soo start to blow the cam cover gasket...

hi people, I have been busy, apologies, for not replying sooner. much thanks for your advice. I actually worked it out for myself, and used a metal fuel pipe for a model airplane. it has sorted the problem. have a nice day people, and thanks again.
