Back from the annual jaunt down to the south of France....and back to the grind >:(
Really enjoyed it though, i will admit to being a little unsure about the Omega, remember i bought this as a non runner and since i bought it i have been doing jobs on it so this was a little bit of a suck it an see trip, i was really impressed by it, it is now staring to win me over.
Performed with no major issues, the indicator stalk is falling apart but that's not a great biggie.
On LPG i was averaging 20/22 MPG at about 69 ppl, it worked out to be on average .89 cents per litre as opposed to 1.59 Euros :o (£1.39)
Had i run it on petrol i would have been getting 27.9 MPG and used about 91 gallons this was with 4 people on board all the time and air con running so i didn't think she was doing too badly and at some points we were doing slightly more that the French legal (to the point where i got GATSO'd....2nd time in 2 years whilst in France)
Having done the figures it worked out i would have spent something like £569 had i run it on petrol, as it was i spent £350 on LPG and so saved £259, that's nearly half the gas kit paid for already :y
Just about every filling station on the autoroutes has LPG, it is far more widely used over there and the rumours i had heard about crappy gas were, on the whole, not true, i had one bad fill up and that was from a petrol station that was right out in the sticks, all the others were fine
Managed to make the sister-in-law ill whilst chasing an E30 M3 up the Col-De-Torini ;D ;D ;D she still has not forgiven me for that, i have to say it was one hell of a road to drive, fantastic views, some great driving experiences and the restaurant at the top does some quality food whilst looking over a valley over 5000 feet up :y
Will post some pic up when i get home on the weekend, was very enjoyable and now back to work
BTW, sorry for anyone who has PM'd me, i will respond ASAP

if there was an LPG party i would more than happily come along and lend a hand, although i will leave the wiring to people better qualified ;D
It was a good holiday, didn't see many miggys on my travels aside from a really late 2003 CDX estate from germany, a real odd ball one as it had the BMW 2.5TD lump in it!!!!!
According to the owner this wasn't a special order or anything

I was still fixing odds and ends on the weekend before so my confidence was a little shakey, as the journey progressed so did my confidence.
Could do with new rear suspension as every now and again it would drag the mudflaps when hitting the bottom of a dip at speed :o
Hows the gas install coming along?

Hows the gas install coming along?
Should be finished soon. Have had a run of travelling on business and busy weekends, plus had to get hold of a longer filler hose. Front end is complete, including vapouriser now. Tank frame is on as are the exit points for the ducting so just a matter of installing the tank and running the pipework / wiring to the filler and front end.

Glad it all went OK

I've had my mudflaps scrape now and again when heavily loaded, I've fitted some spring assisters and can't say I've noticed it happen since.
Fairly easy to find on ebay if you wanted them, and not hard to fit, just jack the car up on the body so the rear suspension is hanging free, wheel off and feed it onto the coil spring.

Hi jay, good to hear you had no issues with the cdx, i got back thursday eve from spain and my round trip milage was 3,317miles and like you found that fuel costs in europe are lower than here, and in spain the price of a litre is about a £1 so even better. My car ran like a dream and never missed a beat and simply eats the miles and as far as i am aware did not get zapped by the grey boxes pointing towards you.I doubt if you will get anything from your slight miscalculation of speed, although iam sure you will let us know if you did. By the way the combined mpg over the entire trip fully loaded with the missus stuff was 32.8 mpg so quite pleased with that.
;D Best regards Gary.

I did 4000km in 12 days earlier in June. Was pleasantly surprised with 2.5 consumption, some of which at quite decent speed. I dont drive the car much so petrol still the cheapest option for me
