Hi all...
One of my parking sensors has gone inside the bumper. Before I go mucking something up, can I get to it by taking off that plastic bit just inside the boot, or is there metal behind it. I noticed in the two 'How to's' that those sensors are fitted in the lower part of the bumper, but mine are fitted in the top part, above that crease that goes all around. I could not initially see a way through from underneath, but that might be my eyes. I hope the bumper does not have to come off :(
I am talking 2003 CD Saloon.
Reason for not going in blind...swmbo has demanded I go here first, before I cock something up >:(

Ooooh...that's a bummer. I can see it just lurking inside the hole. Can't see how to pull it through.
Definitely no access from under.
Probably in fantasy land now...but if there is a metal panel behind the plastic..what if I cut an access hole big enough to get some tool in, behind the sensor, it would not be visable, and surely if would not affect safety. I think taking off bumpers would be a bit above me, mate :(

Are you serious, Paul, I mean about getting it off...I shall have two trolley jacks there :o

If it's a facelift model you don't need a trolley jack to remove the rear bumper. It is 4 screws along the top under little plastic caps. One at the top in each wheel arch and one underneath behind each wheel. There are 2 plastic clips underneath below the number plate that have a pin you need to push through.

Yes..its facelift. Just had a look, at the thing, all looks like on the ground job. Are the four plastic bits on top, those shaped like an oval (race track) and need to be prised out. :y

We can do while on the ground. when i replaced mine it was quicker to do it from underneath. Also no chance of busting the screw mounts in the wheel arch.

The little oval covers do need to be carefully prised out. They have a little clip at each end so try to do it from the curved end rather then the long edge to reduce the chance of snapping the clips.

I expect Paul knows the gen, but, if something happens that he does not make the meet, then I am forewarned :y
Oh...I have read the maintenance section, but I couldn't see the plastic clip things. So leave to someone who knows :y

They are on the bottom lip of the bumper, one is quite close to the exhaust cut-out. About the size of a 1 pence.
