Title: Radio Swap
Post by: Zuffenhausen on 12 October 2015, 22:13:12
If I get a CCR2006 with code from the bay of fleas is it a straight swap with the CDR2005 that's in my car now?

Yes - All you need is the radio code

Plug and play  :y

Yes and No, be aware of the Non Bose and Bose versions which are not plug and play due to differing Output levels, ie, non Elites and Elites in the UK.  :y

You will have to change the cage as well, since the 2005 unit rests on a ledge half way up the cage, 2006 needs full depth of the aperture. See thread bottom of this page of my struggle to do it. I ended up installing the HU in the cage, then pushing the cage into the aperture. It works fine now.

Thats only really an issue if replacing CDR2005 with a CCR2006, as the CCR2006 has a programmable volume stage.

Original post was for replacing CCR2006 with a CDR2005, and doubtfull if you would even notice the BOSE issues as CDR2005 is very forgiving

 ;)

Other way around Dave, that's how I read it, OP has 2005 and is thinking wacking a 2006 in there.
