Title: Been checking..
Post by: BazaJT on 14 October 2015, 21:23:44
..the car over tonight ahead of its mot on Friday.Lights, levels, wipers, washers that sort of thing and I find that in the last year the car has covered 439mls.In that time I have spent £400 on insurance+ved,+a new thermostat and transfer tube and coolant+crank sensor[genuine]+second hand cam covers and new gaskets+a set of spark plugs and leads+hbv.Add in fuel to cover mileage and the question is why do I own a car when it'd be cheaper to hire one when I need use of a car?Even if it does pass the mot without any failures it then needs timing belt replacing so even more expense!!!!!

If that 439 is made up of lots of short journeys, it will be in need of an Italian tune up.

If you go on average annual mileage of 10,000 then as a 15yr old mine should have done 150,000 as it is its just tipped over 135,000 so it's already lower than average miles ;D
