They did one of those on car SOS a while back.  They had to drop a different lump in it so it could keep up with modern traffic.

The 6 cylinder 2 litre lump from the Vitesse should fit without any problem. :y

Way back in the mists of time a friend of mine owned a 1965 'C' plate Herald 12/50.

I remember we maxed the beast out at an 'indicated' 77 MPH.

It felt as though it was doing 150 MPH. :y

Its quite shocking to see a lot of these old classics still full of rust and yet folk are bidding on them like no tomorrow  :( Most were bad in their day let alone surviving another 30 years with original rust clinging together  :D Dont mind taking a few sills off and replacing but where will it end  ::) Maybe push the boat out a few more quid and see what the hook picks up . Triumph  Dolly sprint  :-\

How much are you willing to spend, Mr Emd?

Even a tightwad such as yourself knows 99p won't go very far... ;) :D ;D

As a callow youth I owned a brace of Regals. Not as muscular as the Robin with only 600cc and 25 BHP.

Rolled them both.....the second time nearly taking my head off.

Ah......happy times. ;D

I had a mighty Regal convertable soft top. As you said Opti, the old side valve engine was gutless. But at least you could sit in it to work on the engine. :D. Happy days, my first "car", drove it on motorbike licence.
