Ive seen this report, i still dont know what to make of it :(

So does this cartridge put new oil in and takes old oil out......Surely if it does then it is similar to using a pump to suck out the oil before putting the new oil in by hand.....if so,,question is by taking oil out by pump it does not remove all of the sludge in the bottom of the sump,,,,,,where as removing sump plug will.....still its progress i suppose :-\
-
Do you have to wear them glasses too :-\
-
If the cost will be like printer ink, it will make those cartridges about £750 ;D
-
Wonder if a top up is possible if needed?

Which sludge is that? Sounds like same as the comments re using a vacuum pump on my Smart ...... and there's been no sludge in the sump on the couple of occasions I've removed it.

Trouble is that you are in the hands of the previous owner regarding sludge and missed oil changes. :y
Get lucky and no issues, pick up an older motor with a chequered history and it is bad.

And what of the oil filter?

And what of the oil filter?
The logical answer would be to build it into the module along with the oil.

But, the analogy with the printer cartridge has been made... How long before these are "chipped" so that they can only be changed at a main stealer, you get a "demo" one that will only last for 1000 miles when you buy the car new and the car won't go if you use a "pattern" part?

Can't see it kicking off. dry sump vehicles maybe .... but nahh

The other analogy concerns the cost of printer ink sold in a printer cartridge vs the cost of a bottle of ink :(
