sold! :o
-
sold!
I know, I just bought it !!!!
This Omega ownership is definitely some kind of madness, but I had one of these before, and the diesel I have now has just practicaly blown up, so its back to the good old petrol engine.
And anyway I dont care, lifes too short to be worrying about anything.
:y :) :)
-
Looks very nice.
-
I think you've done alright there ,its looks a good car :y
-
2.2's are a pleasure to work on, so much space.
Looks good, but you will never get 40 to the gallon ;D

I had been looking at that to reshell my black one :D
Nice colour :y

Sorry bout that squire, just could not resist it and thought they would turn down my offer, but when I said I would turn up early in the morning with 1k cash, they accepted.
However there must be some bits off my blown one that should be of use, though I cannot advertise them on here of course.
:) :) :)

Not many posts to go before you get to the 250, then you can hopefully get selling, and fund your Omega hobby :y
-
Same colour as my 3.2 Manual Plod Estate :y, don't see many in that paint code. ;)
-
Well I picked her up this morning, and boy what a fine specimen, absolutely mint and a joy to drive. Got it from a genuine couple who inherited it from their father and were a joy to deal with.
Shows up all the things that are wrong with my 2.2Dti, like noise, tramlining, starting problems, etc etc.
Put a stop to my wife asking why a daft retired old git like me needs 2 Omegas by taking her for a spin in it and buying her a new pair of shoes and some lunch.
I will find out about the diesel one from the garage in a day or two, but I am fairly confident it will be going for spares, but another 130 posts before I can advertise the bits on here is going to take some time.
Just out of interest Zirk, you say its the same colour as yours, whats the actual name of the colour ?
:y :) :)
-
It was the new shoes and lunch that did it ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
Mind you, I suppose in some cases the shoes and lunch would cost more than an Omega, so not recommended in all cases.
:) :)
-
Look in the FAQs section, scroll down to bodywork and paint codes are in there. Your paint code should be on drivers door pillar, HTH. :y Or the car pass if you have it.
-
Ah ok ronnyd, something else I've learned.
cheers for that.

I've bought bars of chocolate worth more than my insurance reckons my Omegas worth ;D ::)
-
Congrats, :) Nice purchase, a carbon copy of mine, just in better nick as ours has done 2 years of skip runs!
Oh and 40 mpg must be a joke :o
I achieved that once, when driving back from picking it up, SWMBO was following so we were doing 65mph max from surrey to birmingham >:(
Mine does about 32-34 on the motorway (70-85) atm I'm doing a lot around town/short runs and its on about 25-26mpg.
-
I'm a bit down on that. For maximum economy I find about 47-49mph gets me the theoretical 40mpg. General motorway cruising at 70, 32-4mpg, but round town I'm averaging 22, as I say. Though reading 23.8mpg at present, so fingers crossed it won't go down much further, and the tesco ultimatum is doing good stuff. :)
Just done an engine and gearbox oil change, too. Plugs and filters are next.. after I've repaired the crash damage to the offside :(
-
If it's metallic grey, Vauxhall called it moonland
-
;) Nice looking car enjoy it ;D
-
thanks for all your comments and handy advice lads.
I never expected to achieve 40mph as I had one of these before and know what to expect, so no problem there,
The big problem with these cars is that a lot of us buy them for their carrying capacity, and its quite difficult keeping them pristine while using them on a daily basis for lugging loads of crap around.
I must make more effort.
Anyway I am enjoying the car just now and will, like all other hapless Omega drivers, simply await the next crisis.
:) :)
-
Definitely true in my case. When I first bought it I wasn't even that much of a miggy fan. I just couldn't find anything bigger that I could take ti the tip. Since owning one though, love em! :y
If my new work allows an older car I'm going to get a saloon for "best" and a keep the estate as a dog wagon. Otherwise it will have to be a newer motor :(

Never mind aye. ;D ;D ;D ;D :y

What you on about? My Turbo Weasel once struggled to go above 40mph! :D Reasonably steep hill, clearly the box was in the wrong gear, and refused to change down. By the top of the hill we were laughing our heads off at the top at the uselessness of it; we were convinced from that day that the engine was powered by a BT call centre :D ;D :D
So, yeah, the 0-40 time for a 2.5TD Omega is 38 seconds. :)

Not sure if its a hobby or a terminal illness tbh!
