Title: WIM OOF day
Post by: TheBoy on 11 July 2008, 22:31:12
To be honest, we do not have enough interest in this meeting.  I will leave it open for the weekend, but if we don't have significant more interest, I'll be forced to cancel this meet  :'(

Shame, as I was going to be doing very good rates on Tech2 stuff....

If I could have swapped my standby at work I would have been tempted, long way though.

I would likely book my car in for the next / previous day if I went down there.

If things change, and you need a (slightly lumpy ;D) bed for the night, let me know.

If you are coming, ensure name is on list on thread in Meetings section.  A decision will be made Sunday evening.

This is a fantastic opportunity to discover about geometry and why geometry is simply not just going to local tyre fitter and getting car tracked or 4 wheel laser aligned.

And some lucky people will get their car fully geometry adjusted for free (purely name-out-of-hat)

Sorry I can't make it, unfortunately it's that time of year folks are going on holiday or thinking about it, perhaps making it a month or 6 weeks later might do the trick.

Remember there will be some cheap tech2 work going on as well :y

In fact, anything that doesn't need a laptop will be free (ie, diags, key programming, climate upgrades etc).

I won't be doing this all day, as I do not want to detract from what WIM are trying to teach us all :)

Hi All,
Come on all you OOf'ers.  Let's show some support here.

Surely with 3600 members we have enough interest to make a good show for this day.

Where else are you going to get such an offer again. A specialist with a FREE demo and explanation on a problem, that considering the number of posts on the subject, gives virtually every Omega owner trouble at some time.

Plus, probable 1 in 30 chance of getting a free geometry set up. You wouldn't get such odds to win a crappy flower vase at the church fete as that!!!

WTF do you want???

Roger

Highly recommended, always worth a good checkout of your car with tech2, ensure everything is up to date, excersize motors prone to seizing, check the accuracy of your dials, look for potential problems.

was meaning a check of live data, can show how badly some parts ie exhaust are performing, my exhaust gave up, tech2 showed it had been knackered for some time...

Something the majority of tech2 ops wont spot, but Jaime or Mark on a tech2 is not to be missed!

If we can get enough support to go ahead, I am quite keen to subject my chariot to TB's expertise (time permitting). I have read lots of good comments on the forum after some f/w updates, particularly gearbox and climate. :y

Seem to have spent a lot of time there recently, firstly for the opening day, then front tyres and geometry, and then another visit to replace punctured back tyre. Getting to know Tony and the boys quite well now! ::) Anyway, going to try and get over there if I can but can't make a firm commitment yet. :y

Likewise, I may be able to get over but not 100% sure. Looking at the state of my rear tyres if he's going to demo tyre mounting I might be able to kill two birds...
