2006 Fiesta 1.4 petrol Zetec. 53,000 miles with full service history and has generally been well looked after, but has recently developed a couple of issues. :(
1) It has a coolant leak from somewhere front offside and I havn't had a proper look yet but I'm wondering about the waterpump. Are they suspect on these at this sort of age/milage? :-\
2) It's been parked on a steep hill (facing uphill) recently and has a leak resulting in a puddle in the rear offside footwell. I've checked all the drains in the doors and all run clear. As do the scuttle drains. So I'm not sure where to look next. ::) :-\
In short it's leaking both ways! ::) Any advice appreciated as always! :) TIA! :y

Could be thermostat housing leaking.

Tig, is it rain water or coolant in the foot well? I presume rain water but worth asking.
As for the leak, I would guess more likely the water pump as I THINK (could well be wrong so apologies if I am) that the stat housing is on the near side on those.
How bads the leak? If bad you can watch the suspect places for the leak with car running. If only small, you'll have to pressure test it. Worth noting that there is a really shite plastic bleeder valve on the left hand side of the rad that could be worth a goosey gander :y

Ps, ignore comment about coolant. . . Just noticed you said REaR footwell.
-
Do it the STEMO way. Keep topping the coolant up and drill a hole in the rear footwell. :y

I got to agree with you STEMOit guarantees you always got brand new coolant. What's better, a constant fresh supply of coolant to the engine with a slight leak. Or a sealed system but old coolant. I'd prefer the former personally :y
Unless of course it's using 5 litres a day ;D

Rear puddle is probably rotten inner sill... Being a Ford and all...

Was the last person that travelled in the back an older person?
