Changed the dipped beam bulb in wifey's car last night. Dark, windy, rain........I just didn't want to be out there. So did the job, checked lights, all OK, closed the bonnet, funny noise. OOPS, opened the bonnet and there's my magnetic light staring at me, a bit broken but still working. Had a quick look around the engine bay for shards of plastic but nothing obvious, and it was the opposite side to any belts so 'that'll do'.
So she sets off for work this morning and, five minutes later, rings to say she can't get 5th or 6th gears. I told her to come back and you can guess the rest. Small piece of plastic firmly wedged in the selector mechanism, which is right under the battery box and awkward to get to.
So still had to fiddle in the dark and wind...but no rain.......bonus :(

This is why I never start anything unless the weather is clear, as soon as you try and beat the weather you end up rushing and f***ing something up.
