Essentially it's a sideloading forklift with a caravan passenger cabin bolted to it :y

Many years ago i went to india...When getting on the plane in UK we just went down a tunnel to get on and never seen the outside world,When we got off the plane in Goa, we more or less got off by going down a set of steps. ;D ;D ;D ;D...Was told that they never even had runway lights For night landing back then.

Port Harcourt doesn't have lights... But that's more to do with the locals robbing them ::)

Why? Thought all gates there were equipped with ramps?

15yrs ago they never :y

Mini version of the lift trucks they use in either Chicago or Washington? I remember getting on one and it blasting around the airport. They used to be used to load people on, maybe 100 people or so would fit on them.
Looks like it will handle well ;D

I like the air bridges. Easy to get disabled relatives on and off. No doubt the
airport robdogs charge the airlines for using them.
I like the look of that device. Have been offloaded in some wonderful contraptions at non UK airports. All were better than two firemen doing a firemans lift at Granada airport!

Perhaps half... not including breakdowns... alot of gates have left and right stands, with only one jetty ;) Also, domestic flights arriving at international gates are all bussed, plus not everyone can manage steps.
Some gates, 46,47 and 48 in the North Terminal, don't have any buggy access, so off loading the assistance passengers takes an age, 46 for example is nearly 500ft from the nearest point you can get the buggy to, and we're prohibited from pushing chairs on the travelators, (HSBS :-X) so quicker to use a lift and bus :y

It handles like a 10ft wide forklift with hydraulic self levelling suspension, steering and drive ::)
But it will turn in its own length which is vomit inducing if done at more than walking pace as it doesn't roll ;D
