The incomparable Serek replaced my cam covers and serviced me a week or so ago, as I have mentioned on here earlier, and having found the plug wells swimming in oil, advised me that the coils were likely to fail when the oil covering dries out and would need to be replaced.
In anticipation of this unhappy event, does anyone have serviceable units for sale, please?
Ron.

if your keeping the car i would buy new , wouldn't trust second hand as they mite have suffered the same fate in the oil bath :-\

Yes, good advice, EMD - would those available on ebay be any good, do you (or anyone) know?
I have a non-elastic pension!

I'm not sure but i think these are the genuine replacement , a bit pricey but then again how much they would be from the dealers :-\

Thanks for that link, and now a stupid question - I suppose that is for only one side?
In which case - OUCH!!!

Yes; you don't need telling that the help and advice freely given on this Forum is invaluable. I certainly would not have been able to run my Omega without it, even though I don't smoke, rarely drink and don't chase women (Um....), so it's my only vice! :-X

Got to agree with EMD on this one,and as long as they are genuine then I would go for those,(early chrissy present?) S/Hand ones would have to be absolute minters ;)

Thanks for the correction, EMD, but I assumed that was a given anyway!

I've got a couple here...but I couldn't say how good they are,I brought them for the spares shed, but I now think new where ever possible. So if push comes to shove and you do need them I would have to look and see what I gave for them as it was quite a while back, so see how you go, as another member may come up with a pair of 'known' packs which may suit you better :y

Thanks nitro, I will certainly keep you in mind. Touch wood, I do not have any misfires at the moment, but Serek is the expert and if he says there may be trouble ahead, I think it wise to be prepared. Distress purchases at the last minute are never fun!
Ron.

Will take a good look at them tomorrow, just in case :-\

I'd be inclined to buy new, either GM or Bosch (GM are stamped with the Bosch PN IIRC), should be able to pick up for around £70-£80 per side.
