Hello, been looking for a large cruiser for a while now, have found one local to me on e-bay (331705902594) have arranged a viewing tomorrow , any things i should look out for 2.6 CDX ?

Usual V6 woes would be leaking cam cover gaskets, check coolant for cleanliness[as a check for oil cooler problems]and level.Ask about or see any cam belt change history-should be every 4yrs or 40,000mls.Make sure it gets up to and holds temperature and if auto changes gear smoothly.Don't know if 2.6 can suffer same pre-cat fault codes as 3.2 but if they do that's a reasonably easy issue to resolve.Others will probably give better/clearer advice.

Look out for last cambelt change. 40k miles or 4years whichever comes first. Budget £350 -bit less diy. Also check front tyre wear and it doesn't pull to one side on the level. Could be symptomatic of suspension wishbone wear.
Have a look through forum posts as there is a wealth of info and diy advice. Good choice of barge if you can live with fuel consumption.

Thanks for the replies, car is excellent the owner is a real motor enthusiast .He allowed me to take it for a drive and explained all the toys & said that everything electric works, masses of service history .The only thing is would I be better waiting for an automatic to turn up always fancied an auto but would I find one as good as this .Seems a genuine fellow showed me the car he has bought to replace the omega a lovely e class mercedes, best to sleep on it.

Hello and welcome plenty of help here from many good people. The car sounds like a good one. :y

Depends really on your own personal preference,as to whether to try sourcing an auto. Many on here would tell you that having more pedals than feet is the only way to go.Would I be put off a car because it's got a manual box?[I've had nothing but autos since 1996]No I wouldn't if in all other respects it was the "right"car :y

do the pedal trick on it to see any error codes. didn't a mig owner on here recently buy an e class?

This was mine, I could tell markbricky really wanted an auto ,hope he finds a good one.. It sold to a forum member I am pleased to say last night collects it on Saturday.
