Title: Abrasive brake pads??
Post by: Jan Suhr on 17 November 2015, 21:10:17
I'm not driving every day and sometimes it can be still for a week. This is ruining my brake discs, I replaced all 4 of them early this year. Now I get a lot of vibration when braking from high speed an I can feel a bit of vibration in low speed as well.

With moist weather the discs get rusty and in between the pad and disc rust get worse, I can now see marks after the pads on the disc.

I heard a long time ago that there was brake pads with an abrasive coating that cleaned up the discs after you have put on new pads. I have had a hard time finding some. If you Google there are references to it but I can't really find anyone who sells them.

Anyone who has a clue??

Thanks

Ebc tend to have a bedding in coating on their pads... I use the Ultimax ones... effective,  but very dusty :y

Thanks, I'll check with EBC. I know they make good stuff.

I can't give you the Omega part numbers though, as I am running Monaro calipers ;)

I found a place here in Sweden that had them, I got the UltimaX.

# DP937 for front brakes
# DP675 for rear brakes.

Will do the change when I put on the snow tires that I ordered today as well.
