Don't they just sell out of date/end of line crap on black Friday?

Better to wait until the New year when the shots start to struggle  :y

I looked at a TV on the Argos website. Looked like a good deal, reduced by £130. So I looked on Amazon, John Lewis, Currys etc.,  and it was exactly the same price, but not reduced.
So, disillusioned, I decided that Black Friday is just a big con....sad.... :(

At our place we offer amazing black friday deals of up to 35% off. This January in the sales we'll be offering 35% off. Normally however, every other day of the year we only offer a mere 35% off. Unless there's a special weekend super saver jobby. We reduce rrp by 35%.

Might get a proper spearfishing wetsuit.  Been using a triathlong wetsuit with a camoflaged rashuard over the top.  Last weekend's 5 hr stint in the water got a little chilly and the water is only going to get colder from here on in.

Only thing is I will have to order it stateside and get it shipped over here, even so it still works out cheaper :y

Hacked off with the sales.  Was looking to purchase a 27/28" 4K monitor because I am getting fed up of using the TV as a monitor.

Been trying to pick up a Dell P2715Q Not the best monitor on the market)  Ebuyer discontinued, Dabs I have to fill a form in to get it price matched

Debenhams are cheaped so far at £425 but no mention if its a 3 year warranty

Asus PB287Q Ultra HD is my other choice, £359 at Debenhams, waiting for price match at Dabs and Ebuyer wont drop from £390.65

Was trying to stick under £400  :-\

Other option by a 4K tv (But that blows the £400 Budget)  ::)

I've ordered a 32" Samsung telly for my sons bedroom. Freeview HD, wifi, enough inputs for his consoles. £249.99 with a five year guarantee from John Lewis, £279.99 in Currys and out of stock.

A telly is, more or less, a telly to me. I don't want the characters on screen joining me on the sofa or owt.

I NEED A LARGE DRINK  ::) ::)

Finally opted for the Asus monitor, got fed up of waiting fora price match to come through to save a tenner, only to get my card declined on a fraud check.

30 mins later after going through card security with my bank it gets the payment authorised.

Dare I shop for a new 4gb video card . . . .  :-X

I picked up a 1Gb SSD to shove in one of the servers to act as a cache.

But I might abandon that idea as not convinced it will make a jot of difference TBH.

Because people aren't quite as stupid as commerce would like, and everyone bought in too much cheap, old tat not realising that noone would bother going to the shops to buy any of it ::)

Well opened my new monitor to find a 2 pin mains lead  :-\

Thought it was a legal requirement to supply with a UK mains lead/plug

When my Samsung TV arrived that only had a two pin plug, that was dispatched from frog land and went back equally quickly with a note to self " never again"  ;)

How difficult is it to, cut off 2 pin euro plug, and re-attach an English 3 pin. Or are people not that clever.

You shouldn`t have to when you`ve spent good money on something, besides mine went back because it didn`t work not because it had the wrong plug.

Correct, It cant be classed as "Plug n Play" if you cant get it to work out of the box.

As a grey import, you can get into warranty problems. Additionally, its false advertising, and for some items, will be a different, potentially incompatible, spec

Yeah that's not something I`d like to put to the test, though theoretically within Europe it`s supposed to be ok.

Not saying it's relevant, but the ads for certain cars on telly say they are not UK spec and are obviously being driven in Europe.

I think with electricals you`re covered but might have to go to the manufacturer direct for any warranty claims.

The TV I bought had a power lead with a two pin plug, so the TV was the same just the power lead was different but was easy to borrow the power lead from my monitor, and when it wouldn`t come to life I packed it back in it`s box and got a returns label from the company I bought it from so I could send it back, took me nearly two weeks to get a refund hence the `never again`

I would go straight to trading standards if sold an appliance within the UK without a 13A plug fitted.

I suspect they wouldn't give a monkey's, though, given the quantity of tat that's sold here without even meeting basic electrical safety requirements let alone having the correct plug fitted. ::)

It's been law since 1st February 1995 for Manufacturers and Importers of Electrical Goods for Domestic use.

Of course, a continental plug with a suitable adaptor is fine, provided there are clear instructions on how to use the adaptor, and the adaptor meets ASTA or BSI standards.

The retailer tried to cover thierselves with that one, they are now contacting the manufauror to send me a mains lead as the monitor came direct from them (Even though thier wharehouse showed plenty in stock)  I would have thought it was the retailers responsibilty to make sure all was correct.
