tried starting the 2.6 today after about 7 months , battery was total dead . fitted new battery but will not start, seems to be that there is no spark as there is lots of fuel coming though, it always started right away before being left , anybody any ideas , thankyou

Do it again

Pretty sure all 2.6 /3.2 codes begin with a 0 may be worth having a double check on the pedal trick code readout :-\
0335 would be a prime suspect here IMO
-
thanks , would the knock sensor cause it not to start
-
its hard to know what 0 is from flashes

10 flashes = 0 have a look at Gixers video in the maintenance guide

Unless you have put a clean fill of fuel into the tank I doudt if 7 month old will be helping the cause .
Worth rigging up a clean fuel feed from a metal jerry can and see if that produces better results.
A ggod start requires decent plugs /good charge in battery and a clean source of fresh fuel

Is the EML just constantly flashing when you turn the key?
-
the orange light with the car and a spanner is flashing the minuet you turn the ignition on

the orange light with the car and a spanner is flashing the minuet you turn the ignition on
Classic immobiliser issue... basically the chip in the key is either missing or wrong...
-
so the immobilizer only cuts the spark and not the fuel
-
Try this . . . sit in the car . . turn ignition on . . push a key fob button to do a central locking reset ( doors lock & then open again)
Take key out . . get out of the car & lock using the fob . . . then unlock using the fob . . .get in & try to start the car .
Might seem strange . . .but it has fixed a few with this problem . . .mine included ;)
-
thanks , tried that still no joy and light still flashing , what next

And were in the key is the chip situated
-
Wiggle the connector on the immobiliser module under the steering wheel cowling.

Remove the fob bit ie the bit with the buttons & the chip should live in the side of the horseshoe blade bit .... little rectangle-ish bit of plastic
same as this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VAUXHALL-OMEGA-TRANSPONDER-KEY-COMPLETE-WITH-CHIP/161341904353?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140122125356%26meid%3D14351e14300941678e77703310197f68%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D191219684422

Agreed Al . . . but surely only if OP has taken apart or messed with the key since car was last started :-\
Also guessing there is only one key available here :-\
-
yes just one key
-
When the Dash Light is flashing, is it flashing in a neat sequence on off, or does it sometimes flash randomly or miss a beat hear and there?
-
no chip in the key ??? . do i need the ecu as well as a new key and chip

Really?
Do you have the car pass?

So that little black thing is missing... So Since you last ran the car,The key must of been opened up/Dropped..
Your gonna need to get one and then get on a Tec II :y

Yes, if you have the car pass :y
Not if its been on a naff code reader
-
The way i see it is.. The car the key & transponder and a tec II all need to get together here.. So no need to be going in with a half chance transponder.. Get New :y
-
So do you remember the key at some point coming apart ?
If No... Could the transponder have been put in the steering column somewhere and now its fallen off ?

And take it and the car pass to either a decent locksmith or Vauxhall.

Christ! I know he came to you, but you could have almost bought the whole key & had it coded from Vauxhal for that kind of money!

But that would have been plus the cost of having the car recovered to them, and getting it back sometime in the new year.
Although £132 does seem a bit steep.

Cheaper than Timpsons wanted for just a key last time I asked - they were more expensive than the main dealer..
-
