We are in Britain enjoying Xmas/New Year with family in various locations in England and Scotland.
Just watching tv and they are saying things like "busiest day of the year" on the roads. Is there a website anywhere that predicts less busy times and days to travel.?

I can do a prediction.
"there's going to be a load of idiot drivers on the road over the Xmas period.'
-
Down load Nokia Here Maps (Free) on the mobile and set the Traffic to On, when doing the Satnav thing it will give you alternative route if the usual one is longer than normal due to traffic. ;)

C'mon Jason, play along.. the correct response is "The police don't have balls" :P :P

I only go as far as walking the dog over Christmas, it's just not worth chancing the roads. Their logic is " come on, you hardly see a copper these days, get it down yer neck'.
And they're mostly right, they indeed don't see a copper........until they've killed or seriously injured an innocent party.

Why are policemens balls bigger than firemens balls?
Driving at night isn't an option. Plus when I did that back in October it was still quite busy and endless M1 roadworks didn't help.
Zirk I'll have ago at your suggestion but it sounds technology heavy. Thanks :y

Google maps will do that, but not of much use if sitting in a three mile queue of traffic. :(

Cavity searches seem to be a bit of a fascination on here. ;D

I forecast the M25 will be busy

I forecast the M25 will be busy
Isn't it always?
But it's still better than routes that avoid it.

Pretty useful website. Shows current speed on motorways/main routes and also how the traffic compares with that which they forecast.
