At first I thought a mast or two was down due to the weather.
Then I thought my phone was faulty.
However, I've moved the SIM to an old phone and I still get exactly the same message.
Sim fault?

Does your Network show up if you do a manual search, if it does then theres an acquisition error.

Thanks, Mr Zirk.
I've found four networks......Vodafone, 3G, 02, and T-Mobile.
How does this help, or not?

No problems up to now.

The weather is playing havoc, we got warnings of an intermittent sky problem. Could be that. Moving the sim means it's not the phone, so wait and see.

I have just spoken with a customer services operative from India ( because apparently this offers the best customer service to a valued customer such as myself)
They are sending out a new SIM card........as they believe the original to be Donald Ducked.

What model of phone?
SIM cards don't just fail, unless damaged by constant removal and refitting. Even then, they fairly tough.
-
I reckon the Sim activation has fallen off the system, which may have been sortable had CS asked you to confirm the Sim ID number whilst on the phone, but alias they work of there script. :-X
Hopefully a new Sim will get you out of trouble, probably still need to get it activated though.

If I'm being honest honest it was thrown against the wall by a person of the female persuasion. With the phone attached to it, obviously.
