If you wipe it with a tissue, is it clear or red? If clear probably, but not sure why there should be anything flowing there in the the first place :-\

It's clear and it doesn't leave any residue on the pipe....
I'm worried about liquid from the joint where shouldn't be any ...Thanks Harris

Water vapour in the exhaust gasses. Obviously you have a leak there ;)

I tried to tight it up a bit more but it's tightened as far as it goes. What can I use to stop the leak?

Undo the nut and check the condition of the pipe underneath the nut for cracks or joint splits.

I've seen those needing to be extremely tight to get a good seal. I have a couple of spares if you need one - I did away with the EGR completely on mine.
