There appear to be some very nice and low miles CD's around but not many similar CDX's.... what are the differences in spec between the two models. Ta

Xenon headlights with washers, sunroof, better radio, Cruise control, different wheels, but same 225/55/16 tyres... Same fabric upholstery and both have heated fronts and both had leather as a cost option.
Of that lot, sunroof is take it or leave it, Cruise can easily be retrofitted, likewise wheels... Only 'extra' worth having is xenons imho ;)

Bit more difference on PFLs, I seem to recall. Air con, but no climate control, which in turn makes for a more 'plasticky' dash (bare grey plastic or wood effect plastic, take your pick!) CDX gets a CD autochanger.
Alloys also make a difference, but again, as Al says, things like cruise, alloys etc can be easily added (and frequently have been by previous owners) I'd miss my autochanger, but with mp3s these day it depends if you want youre fussed about such things.
As I've mentioned a few times, buying a CDX and 'Elitising' it is very doable, and certainly the same goes for a CD. Nowt wrong with picking a lower spec car and tailoring it too your tastes.

Cheers for that, i do like the idea of a sunroof but thanks for the info on the differences.

And if its in fast black its the one to have :P CD cloth seats seem very uncomfortable imo :(

I ignored pre and mid facelift as they are much fewer in number, facelift cars all have climate control and better rustproofing regardless of spec.
Even on CD there are various audio options... but as a rule CDs have CCR2005 cassette, cd, radio and CDXs have CDR2006 4disc cd changer, radio.
CCRT2008 cassette, 4disc cd changer, radio and telephone, and NCDC2013/15 4 disc cd changer, nav disc and (2015 telephone) with a choice of screen...
Elites initially got CDR2006 with Bose or NCDC unit, again with choice of screen.

Physically, GLS, CD and CDX seats are identical. Elite seats are better by virtue of having a wider range of adjustment as they are fully electric and can therefore be adjusted a smidgen rather than in 3/8" notches ;)

Ran a CD spec for years, with a 2.2 engine cruise was dead simple update. I popped a better H/U in for tunes, other than that it's standard.
Now been running an Elite for over 4 years, best bits I would have really liked on the 2.2:
Bose - It's a nice rounded sound, nice as it is, personally it's not worth the hassle to retro fit in lesser spec.
Xenon Lights - A good improvement, very useful and does offer better light.
Sunroof - Not fussed, I find myself pulling the blind across it at night, get little bit of wind noise from it, so with blind shut it's nicer.

Not in cloth. The Elite ones in particular are very comfortable.
The leather is the same (ignoring the Elite electrics etc), but who wants the nasty leather? (says I, with both current Omegas having the leather option :()

Cd spec cars sometimes have a sunroof. May have been an optional extra I suppose ?
All the Elite toys etc are pretty easy to retrofit, apart from self levelling, and that is something you wouldn't want anyway, unless you plan on towing a caravan regularily, imo.

Welcome to the sun roof, I never use mine on either car. The paint comes off the frame, and the rubber goes manky, I'd sooner not have one on a car with AC. :y
-
I agree tbh. Sunroof is pretty pointless, and a potential cause of problems. :y
-
I have the haunted sunroof in my Elite - poxy thing opens itself at random.......
-
I'm too afraid to open my sunroof these days in case it won't close again! :D ;D

I thought that it had to be an Elite ::) ::)

Agreed. Not to mention a load of weight as far above the roll axis as it's possible to get. Pointless, as you say.

PFL/MFL CD had sunroof as standard. I didn't think it was an option on FL CD (but could be mistaken)

I wouldn't be without my sunroof in my cars :)
The FL ones are prone to having the paint flake off, bloody GM penny pinchers :(

Get your AC fixed! ;D

Nor would I, the climate control doesn't replace a sunroof, but complements it. I rarely bother with the CC when external temperature is between 10 and 20° but use the roof. But, the CC is set to 20° and auto, so it's just a matter of turning it on or off. Except for the demist functions, I've never needed any of the other settings.

To be honest i don't really link a sunroof with a/c.... The ac is great for demisting and in a hot summer but i like a sunroof to simply feel fresh air in the car with the windows up, its a different feeling when your driving which i like, the temp of the cabin is not the main event in wanting a sunroof, as we all know most car now and all omega's have a/c and as such its a mute point.

Works fine on 2 of the 3 cars (the other decided to redistribute the compressor around the engine bay ;D)

That would explain it, as the car I mentioned was a p/fl CD spec car. :y

I like having a sunroof, and my old man misses his, now he's
downgraded to got an Insignia. :)
