That falls under the heading of "Dear god, why bother?", surely?

Another heading would be How to make a lot more work for yourself.
A panel with that many holes in it isn't a candidate for welding in lots of little patches.
It's actually quicker and easier to cut the whole sill off and weld in a new one. This also means you find just how bad the inner sill is.

I had a S/H 1959 model mini that was so rotten I made duckboards for the front and put them under the rotten carpets.

I realised just how bad it was when I did a sharpish stop for a roundabout which caused the rear subframe to move and apply the handbrake which only operated on one wheel. That spun the car so it was facing the kerb in rush hour traffic.

It had to go and I got a nice price for it and the number plate (MHG 324)

I take my hat off to folk who are endlessly welding their cars to keep them alive. :( :(

I say fair play to him. I'm sure many people would question our omega obsession lol

What I think is bad is welding outdoors where people who may not be aware could get arc eye!

But after a tickle with the welder ,

And that was just a smidgen of what was needed ........

Take them off and find out ;)

Only one screw at the front, slide it forward.and inch or so and it will fall off. Make sure you're sitting down when you do it though :-X

There is a thread on ABS called "Scrap Yard Dodger" with the owner catalougeing his welding of a GSI. His patch count after the last update was at 169 :o
Superb workmanship going into the car though. Some repairs cant be seen and other mimick factory joins
