If the cloth strip around the glass is no more than a draft excluder (as it surely cant be water tight?) And the drain holes are clear why am i getting a wet head and arse? ..
-
is it leaking past or is it condensation on the glass?
-
Its leakung my friend.. had an egg cup full on the passenger seat a couple of times and drips on your head.
-
Had the same myself recently, was leaking pretty bad. The fix as you say, is to clean out the drain channels - however this did nothing to cure my issues (though worth cleaning them as a matter of course)
I ended up sourcing a replacement glass panel. The seals didn't look really any better than my old one, but as the frame was also badly corroded, it wanted changing whichever way.
However, it was only upon fitting the replacement, and adjusting the height front and rear we thought - 'ah, perhaps the panel was leaking because it wasn't in right?' The Vx recommended figures are, I believe,
front - 1mm below the roofline
rear - 1mm proud of the roofline
Just an alternative unproven theory aside from the usual. As I say, sadly wasn't able to test it, but a new panel fixed the leak. :)

Didnt know it was adjustable?? Well you live and learn dont you? 😁

Nor did I until I got the the very end of the fitting instructions to find a part about adjusting the thing! :)
-
Is there a how to on here?? Dont ever recall seeing one.

bit unclear, really, not the easiest instructions to read, but once you follow it right, it's a doddle. :)

Oh jeez im sorry i asked now.

Distilling it down it's really...
-open the sunroof half way
-see the large C-shaped plastic trim, that runs along three edges of the sunroof.
-undo the screws
-shut the sunroof so you can pull off the C-shaped trim panel
-find the 6 studs, undo them
-lift off the sunroof glass

Believe it's in Haynes...
