Start by reading codes (see maintenance guides) :y

ok thanks TB i have done this and got the following codes 0155, 0115, 0300, 0305, 0301 the three 0300,0305,0301 are cylinders 1, 5  missfire and the 0155 is an 02 sensor  and the 0115 is engine coolant temperature. so i guess that means dis packs and an 02 sensor but what may be the problem with the coolant temperature?  :-\

Either the ecu coolant temp sensor has packed up or it has been left unplugged after work :-\

Misfire is probably scuttle related, takes two minutes to pull that coil pack out to check :y

Pop out passenger side coil pack and examine.

Might need a code reader that can do live data to look at O2 sensors though

Is the air filter and pipework complete and original?

Pop out driver side coil pack and examine.

Fixed for accuracy  ;)

Thanks guys i will take a look tomorrow at the coil pack :y any idea where i would find the  ecu coolant temp sensor plug to check that ? i have also noticed temp gauge hasn't moved  off zero today after a 10 mile trip don't know if that's relevant ! it has only been 2 or 3 deg outside though :-\

Picture of the temp sensors(top 2 plugs), so they are between the heads :)
