Anyone know what i should expect to pay to have this changed on a V6 if i supplied the parts?
-
It shouldn't take more than a couple of hours. Doesn't Elite Pete still do house calls :-\
-
Well in Finland I think everything costs more, but umm if I remember right, 80 euros thermostat (GM) + 2 euros O-rings (two). New coolant 20-30euros. If you need new O-rings, seals to the intake system wouldn't cost much more. Changed myself.
And I would guess if you have it changed somewhere it costs about 3-4 hours of work tax.

Pete may still do jobs here and there but when this leak was first diagnosed he suggested i do it under his supervision but i doubt my fat sausage fingers could do it ..

Course you could :y :y Once you can see it, it's only a couple of bolts plus the b'stard bolt ;)

Its the thumbs and the b*****d bolt to which i refer .. oh and my kack of a torque wrench.

It's not difficult ;) ... honest :y

I kinda dont believe you :D

The bolt was not as bad as I thought replacing the thermostat but, for peace of mind the best is to buy the connecting aluminium pipe as well - I cracked mine, so work instead of few hours was 3 days :(
pipe cost around £10 at dealer.
-
Buying coolant transfer pipe as well as thermostat itself is sound advice,it also comes with the two "O"rings.
-
Yes i had the thermostat and transfer pipe changed at same time on previous miggy so intend to do same again...
