how long should the belt take to do?  4-5 hours?

4-5 hours is about right for the 1st time.thats what it took me when i did my first a few months back.
i mentioned the spanner because it is vital for the deep set bolt on the crank pulley. if my memery serves me well it is 30mm ,and the deeper the swan neck the better. good luck with it. :y

No. You need to be able to get at the nut/caphead for the eccentric (can't remember  :-[ ) in the middle of the 30 mm nut.

The techincal term is Cranked Spanner!  :y
