Title: Interesting way of posting parcels via Homebase
Post by: Varche on 09 February 2016, 13:38:19
Mrs V sold something on Ebay and came to send it and Ebay suggested taking it to nearest Homebase. Only about 8 miles away.

There are three tariffs and the item was the middle tariff about £6 from memory. Ebay auto worked out postage/packing at £14 when the item was listed. If it is there before 3p.m then next day delivery,  Max weight 20Kg and no side of parcel longer than 70 cm. What was interesting was that at no stage did they ask for anything to do with EBay. In other words you could take your parcel there. Presumably this is good thinking by someone to use their spare logistics capacity. I think Sainsburys have just taken over Homebase.

Anyone else used it?

Buy Sainsburys shares and sell Post Office!

You are right Ian. Homebase was a part of HRG which includes Argos. Sainsburys is after Argos .

I think Sainsburys actually aquired Argos a few days ago.
