Title: car radio
Post by: raywilb on 11 February 2016, 15:38:25
sent a ccr radio + 4 disc changer to DND for decoding. however he let me know that it would be a waste of money because even if he did the decode because of the state of the cd part, the installation
would not be able to get past the disc part hence a radio code will be no good. :'( so guess I,m looking for a second hand unit.  :y

Never like turning radios away,
but that was one of the saddest stereos I have seen in a long while with not a single user serviceable part in it - looked like someone had attacked the CD mech with an axe

Hopefully the guys on here will locate a replacement for you     :y

Might be easier to wait till a full working 2006 comes up somewhere.

There`s been a couple on here recently, I sold mine not so long ago and they`re not expensive, just a matter of holding out.
Could be a long wait :-\

If you can get hold of a mint CCRT2008 with code, I might be prepared to swap... ;)

Need to check loft, but might have a working CCR2006 and if it wasn't in the garage a VGC CCRT2008 (but probably not display).

Both would have been in the loft, unused, for some time (more than 5yrs)

Is the CCR2006 to go in a Bose equipped Elite, as it makes a difference?  There are 2 main variants of CCR2006, one is Bose configurable, one isn't.

Pretty certain I have no ccrt screen. 99.9% sure all displays, including my collection of good CIDs were in the garage.

CCRT uses traditional codes, not screen pairing :)

When I bought my Elite the cd cartridge wouldn't eject, radio played fine and when I switched on it displayed the word Bose on the little screen on dash before displaying radio station and other usual info.Bought a second hand one from a breakers yard[with code] and fitted that.Don't know what model it came out of,front of unit is silver not the darker grey of my car,Bose has never appeared on the screen with this one but it plays just fine so that's all that matters to me.Both units were/are ccrt2006.

Is it Bose compatible?

Think aloud, I'm sure the CCR2006 I may have came from MDTM's Omega, thus wouldn't be Bose compatible (Mr DTM, yours wasn't an Elite?)
