My mum has a 52 plate 1.2 punto and has just had it serviced and a cam belt changed at main dealers and now the EML is flashing.
now it only seems to happen when she gets some speed up (not very often shes 65 ;) )
in the hand book it says that theres a problem and risk of cat damage (very uselful)
looked about on the fiat forums but they dont seem to know much
any ideas welcome

Have you had a look to see if all the plugs have been pluged back in not that there is many on the punto. Who did the service.

Same applies as a miggy - read the codes!!
-
main dealers did the service and cambelt
any idea how to read the codes?? suppose its to new to paper clip

I know how to write them off :D
I would take it straight back to the dealer and tell them that this has happened since they did the work, and to check that everything is back in place as it should be. It sounds like something isn't connected properly, but don't quote me on it.

simple... tell the main dealers to do the job properly, they've obviously caused the problem, they MUST fix it!
-
Dont touch it and get it back to the dealer and ask them to sort it out :y

Could be a random misfire which has more causes than Bob Geldof, most common are low fuel, coil packs, plugs and leads. If it is missing and allowing unburnt fuel into the exhaust it may damage the cat. IIRC they are part of the manifold and are not cheap so sort it sooner rather than later.
