Hey guys
I have a few problems I'd like to sort out
First off it the dash only half lights up and the mid has no power, it does look like some had a go at it before I bought it but no idea
Then the drivers door won't lock via fob but all other doors and boot do, I was thinking it was to do with the time not being set on mid, reason being on the mk4 astra it won't deadlock if the clock isn't set for some reason again no idea
It was bought with a blow, I thought oh right just a crack or gasket but as I was poking around in found a sheared stud on the mount, is it difficult to extract and replace?
The shift lights have a mind of their own, if you knock the shifter on the side the lights work like normal, I take it the pnp switch needs cleaning or the cable needs adjusting
Cheers

Wow
I took the binnacle out the main lamps are blown, going to replace with 501s so should give a bit more life
The mid does in fact work but the 2 bulbs have blown so will need to replace
I also found out why the slush box is misbehaving, the enterprise is leaking coolant onto the box so have got a new one on order the same thing happened on my 2.5 cdx minus the electric gremlins
Will slowly sort the other issues at a later time
Cheers

I'm going to remove the pnp switch, I have checked out the catera guides and been on an e36 forum I used to be on. Needs the dirt and grease cleaning where the coolant contaminated it and replace with dielectric grease.
The binnacle now lights up but the tid has missing pixels. Going to clear up the ribbon cable as per the guide on here as an easy fix before spending out on a second user.

Thank you very much, I was finding it difficult to search for a cheapish solenoid but will now repair or attempt to
Would it be lithium or silicone grease for the internals?
-
I've only done 3 but there was sufficient lubricant remaining each time. :y

Took off the pnp switch, what an arse of a job the grease that used to be inside was no longer grease but a gungey wax.
Once clean the contact tracks are looking nice and shiny, gave the shifter a whack and the light stays in gear with no more flashing or limp mode

Just replaced the hbv what a joke that was, took me an hour to work out the best way to remove it, it's in the worst possible place on the x20xev, its tucked away out of sight. I found it easy enough on the v6 since it's just at the top of the plenum
