Title: oil change
Post by: raywilb on 25 February 2016, 16:34:14
I did an oil change this afternoon & undoing that 36mm nut was a breakers bar job. it was easy once persuaded but once off the old filter was all squashed in(like a squashed coke can)  and the centre bore which the filter should push on to is on, but broken, as if its been sawn on one side so it could be squashed in to enable a filter to fit on.  only conclusion I can think of its probably got the wrong housing on.  :-\

Some idiot fitting the wrong filter element is more likely.

It is not unusual to remove squashed filters that were not properly positioned before screwing the cap on. This is not just an Omega problem.

These are some of the reasons I converted mine to a spin-on filter.
