Title: rear anti rollbar bushes
Post by: freeman123 on 26 February 2016, 17:32:37
hi guys,

what would be the effect of shot anti roll bar bushes on the rear, only I thought it may be the shocks but they look fairly new

every time the rear hits bumps you get a knocking bit like the exhaust is hitting the bottom of the car or feels like it bottoms out. :'(

Rear anti-roll bar bushes tend to outlast the car.

Likely culprits are the mounting rubbers at the top of the shock or the rear cross-member donut bushes - or of course the exhaust  ;)

Anything lying around in the boot that could cause it?

Fairly easy job, getting the old ones out can be a challenge, they are not too expensive from VX, or you can get polyurethane ones that will outlast the car from Pedders Suspension for about £120.

The guide to replace them is here http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=90654.0 (http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=90654.0)

You can usually tell if they are knackered by feeling if the rubber has separated from the metal "cup" of the bush.

I think my plan of action will be to order 2 vx ones have them fitted then at least I will no they are good,  even if the knocking still persists which hopefully it wont, but if it does it will be back to the drawing board for the next part replacement

thanks for all the posts will report back soon when job is completed  :y
