Title: Meriva n/s indicator bulb change
Post by: terry paget on 27 February 2016, 14:51:35
My sister's car needs the above repair. Haynes says you can try it having removed the relay box fom the battery tray, but may need to remove the bumper and n/s headlight. Has anyone any advice?

Should be an access "flap" in wheel arch liner, if not you should be able to grasp bulb holder by unclipping the relay box

Thanks Rob. I should have said it was the front n/s, but I think you got the message. I will investigate.

Thanks chaps. Took battery out, and found a plug in bulb holder with a black handle to it. Grasped handle, twisted and pulled it, out it came. Changed the bulb, replaced the holder, repalced battery, tested, job done! Not so bad after all, 15 minute job.
Thanks for advice.

Thanks STEMO. The video showed  bulb change on RHS of a Meriva, which Haynes says is possible but tricky; Haynes goes on to say that changing side or indicator bulbs on LHS headlight is virtually impossible, so operator must remove bumper and headlight first. I removed battery, and found the indicator bulbholder accessible, easily removed bulbholder, changed bulb and reasssembled. Car is a 2007 model, perhaps Vx have improved things.

I was going to say take it to halfords. For £4.95 they'll expertly break fit it for you and its got to be worth the money just to watch an ape struggle to fix it in ;D ;D ;D

Postscript: my wife met my sister Tuesday, sister told wife how relieved she was, now she could turn left again; before the repair she planned all her journeys avoiding left turns. There's responsible!
