As my ol' Sergeant used to ram it down my throat in training - 'ALWAYS LOOK BEHIND YOU, THAT'S WHERE THE DANGERS GONNA COME FROM!!!!'
Good job that 'tank' Disco 4 was there too, there ain't much else gonna stop a big Merc.

Whoa the Merc was going quick aswell ???
-
Approx 200 yards from my house :o ! M57 is particularly horrible when it's raining,

you always look behind :o 8)

Lucky the guy wasn't at the rear of the Disco :o
A chap who worked with my wife was killed a few years back in a similar incident. He got a flat tyre and went to the boot to get the spare and got slammed into by another vehicle. Wouldn't have been a pretty sight.

By the walk, it looked more like a lady who escaped. :o :y

Damn that Merc stops fast when it hits the Disco!

Very lucky indeed, glad the officers all right.

Surprisingly, there wasn't that much damage to it either, relatively speaking. Offside rear 1/4, bumper, light cluster, bottom boot door. Be back on the road shortly :o :o :y :y

It didn't look like it was going particularly fast to start with, just aquaplaning.
Working on the hard shoulder was never a pleasant experience. I was constantly surprised by the number of people who are happy to just sit in their broken-down car.
-
The outcome of that could've been so much worse!Glad it was only bent metal and nothing worse. To think at one time you were told if you broke down on a motorway once on the hard shoulder you must stay in your car!Just as well they've changed the rules.

That Merc really did stop bloody quick ......
