Title: Tyres 2016
Post by: Mr.OmegaMan on 03 March 2016, 23:02:40
Touchy subject I know.. But may be of interest or I may just be behind on the latest. Nevertheless......

Heard something on the radio earlier on in the car, Think it was an advert... Anyway. It mentioned a new Goodyear tyre. The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3

According to this 235/45/17 size is available.

Anyone brave enough to try these?

Can't comment on the Asymmetric 3 but I have found the asymmetric 2 to be excellent.

I paid £300 including fitting for 4 x 225/45/17. :y

Brother has so far managed 35k miles from his 19" Goodyear Assym 2 runflats 8)

All four tyres have 2.5-3mm left, and wearing evenly save for some wear on the inner edge of one rear...

I managed 11000 miles on the rear when fitted to my Omega 2.6.

Admittedly his car spends alot of time on motorways, but he doesn't drive slowly...

Incidentally, car in question is an F31 330d. Which is nice...

... If you like that sort of thing ::)

I've run out of manufacturers to try, so having to revisit old ground.  Blown £500 on tyres in Feb :(

But the GY F1 A2's clearly didn't match my expectations after the initial honeymoon period, and couldn't handle too much abuse  :'(

You not approve Harris? I've hung my nose over a 335d touring (f11) since they came out. Just can't man-maths a solution to buying one tho ;)

Aye, thats fair, I guess you're either into em or you're not, the interior and exterior are both pretty distinctive. Can't comment on how they ride...

Actually rides well considering the 19"s ;) it's SE spec with the adaptive sports chassis, so comfy to sit in and poised on the road...
