Why cant heinz make their tins stackable :( You know where there is a lip on the top and the bottom just slots into another . Causes grief if you knock them in the cupboard and stacking them like a pyramid isn't on ::)

I believe you have too much time on your hands, Mr Emd. :D ;)
I know what you mean though. ;)

Andy B...eanz will have the answer.
Presumably Heinz let him have as many beanz as he can eat....free of charge.

I'll ask! ;D ;D
Our cans are made in 3 bits .... lid, body and end, others are made in two, ie the body & end are made by pressing in one piece of steel, then they put a lid on. No idea why some cans are made one way or the other :-\
-
They always use to be stackable , we have some heinz spaghetti hoops that are not stackable either :( I fear this is a cost saving thing ::)
-
At least you get a ring pull (nice :-*) with Heinz, you need to go to all that bother of a tin opener with cheaper ones. ;D

But the cheaper ones are stackable and i bet they get their beanz from andy :-\

Can's made at Kitt Green have always been the same type ie NOT stackable
They've just spent £millions on a new canning machine ..... we make our own cans on site - though the lids & ends are made elsewhere

No. They taste completely different. My lad will only eat Branston and, if I give him Heinz, he knows.

The ONLY beans that go out of the door with something other than Heinz on the label are HP beans :y :y No own label super market beans at all.

Coke have different plants for product and cans and bottles. I saw it on 'mega factories' ont telly.

So do Heinz. No idea where it's made now, but we used to do baby food until very recently, & the tall Big Soups used be done elsewhere until recently, but we do them now.
It makes sense to leave a live set up to do a particular size whether that's a bottle or can ..... it makes for less change over time and time getting to run properly afterwards.

I'm surprised there's not been a few complaints anyway but i notice that most of the heinz stuff is plastic wrapped in 6 packs so yes they will stack in the shop but not in the bleedin cupboard at home unpacked >:( ;D
-
Big soup, eh? Same stuff as normal soup, just not cut as small.....charge more. ;D

The trouble with ring pull cans is if you go at it a bit heavy handed you could end up with splashes of tomato sauce down ya shirt. ;D

the trouble with ring pulls is that you tend to pull the ring with the opening bit towards you. Years ago SWMBO opened a ring pull tin of cat food that had obviously been damaged and the contents had been bubbling away quite merrily unnoticed.
She wore rotten cat food! :-X

And cut fingers :-[, we always turn 'em over and use the can opener, much safer IMHO.

That's right, Chris.
These bleedin starter motors are a nuisance as well, should have left the crank hole in the bumper. ;D
-
Leave the Beanz in the 6-pack polythene, they stack perfectly. As they do if leave on the 24can trays...

If we are moaning about tins and cut fingers, what about those devices of the devil, corned beef tins? Especially the newer ones without the key but have a (sort of) ring-pull thingy!
Ron.

I would worry more about what's in the tin once you've got it open, Ron. ;D

Are we still in Mad Cow Disease territory, then?
Ron.

I can't believe you lot are so interested in 'stacking tins'. Surely this is more a topic of conversation for 'girlies'

I used to work in a factory that made soup for various companies, Tesco, Co-op and Sainburys being just 3 of them. We used to use the 3 piece tins, they were supplied to us from metal box with one lid allready on, when I worked there I was sent on a course to metal box in worcester where they took us on a guided tour round the factory and they showed us thier new production line making the one piece tins (larger and beer cans) and then printeing them. Facinating stuff. :y

Metal Box used to be just up the road, I work with blokes that worked there, there are now houses where it used to be. The only indication of the factory is a road called Metal Box Way.
I went to Worcester ...... a great, expenses paid week end was had by all

Duraglit. That's a blast from the past. Wasn't it polishing cloths inside a tin?

Has STEMO opened a book and what are the odds on how long before the laptop pile reaches the ceiling?

Aldi bean cans stack, have a ring pull and only cost a fraction of the Heinz ones and IMO taste just as good. Job jobbed. :y :y :y :y

If I can find a six pack of Heinz Beanz for a quid I'll buy them......they are not a great bean being nasty soggy little tasteless bastards.
As already said, Aldi/Lidl beans are superior for a fraction of the price. :y :y
-
....and while I'm giving Heinz a good Kicking their overpriced Ravioli has also gone down the crapper.
Still....the big brands will always appeal to those with plenty of money. :y

Poyton (near Bury) :D

Tesco currently have a pack of 5 for £2, assuming your favourite cash and carry can't do better.
Nothing comes close to proper Beanz. Yes, they may cost a wee bit more, but Sirloin Steak is pricier than offal.

I do like Heinz soups .... beef broth and scotch broth probably my favourites :y .... my only criticism is the labelling.....it quotes the percentage of fat/sugar/etc for half a tin.....who opens a tin of soup and only has half of it! ::)
Last week tho I made my own chicken soup for the first time....wasn't bad, easy to make and far healthier than tinned soups :)
(Left over roast chicken/celery/onion/carrot/leek/chicken stock in slow cooker overnight then blitz :y )
