Just had a bit of a mental blank :D......just removed the carbon pollen filter to renew it. It was fitted with the air flow arrows pointing upwards towards the windscreen. Can anyone confirm this is the correct way for the air flow?
-
Into the car, as air is pulled into the cabin through the filter :y
-
Just to clarify - you are saying the air flow arrows should be facing down as the airflow enters from the holes in the scuttle cover, travels downwards towards the heater etc?
-
Arrows on top edge should point towards the dash board...
Usually marked 'AIRFLOW /I\ ' so in this case, assuming it's written on the top edge, position the word the correct way up to read it, ensure the arrow(s) point towards the dash and insert :y

I changed mine (along with the air filter) a few days ago.
As already said, arrows pointing toward the interior of the car. :y

Without wanting to sound thick, as the pollen filter is mounted at approx 45 degrees, I'm assuming that is facing towards the top of the dash board as HKT has said, rather than facing downwards towards the engjne bay. Thanks.

So where is the air drawn from? I assume the holes in the scuttle cover are for water drainage then rather than for allowing air into the pollen filter area?

So where is the air drawn from? I assume, misguidedly, that the holes in the scuttle cover are for water drainage then rather than for allowing air into the pollen filter area?
Main scuttle drain resides on the drivers side. It is because the holes from which the hvac draws its fresh air supply is located at the bottom of the screen also allow water in that the filter is angled and why there is a drain at the bottom of this cavity... nevertheless this is an air intake first and a culvert second :y

Points towards rear of car.
Air is pulled in from vents in scuttle.

Thanks for clarifying that!

So do arrows ..... ::) ::)

My excuse is that on my genuine GM replacement, even with the arrows pointing up, all the writing including the words airflow are upside down! Perhaps partially forgiven....
