Little bro and Mum live next door to each other.
The other night, whilst having a puff, bro's missus saw people down near his outbuildings, and shouted at them, when the scarpered. Police turned up, but seemingly they'd gone. Police got called away to a nearby disturbance, so left. Bro spent about 45mins trying to get the images of the cctv, then decided to go and better secure his tools and machinery, and also Mums. But in that 45mins, they'd done Mum's outbuildings over, taking mowers, including ride on, and tools >:(
I hope the 3 wankstains burn slowly in hell, painfully.

Regardless of whether the stuff they take can be replaced or not,it's also the feeling[for want of a better word] that the victim is left with.Maureen and I were burgled on two occasions at previous addresses and some of the stuff taken during the first one simply could never be replaced regardless of insurance. It is not nice,I'd have gladly shot them if they'd ever been caught! At least your mum safe and well.
-
Without any emotions coming into it, the stuff they took maybe should have been 'better secured' in the first place. There are no 'nice areas' any more, there are scum who are a waste of food, and have no right to be alive, everywhere.
Oops...that last bit sounded a bit emotional.
-
Sorry to hear this... It a shit experience to go through, especially if you know it could have been possibly prevennted :-\

Sorry to hear this.
It's frustrating to know that someone is always up to no good somewhere. It doesn't matter how secure something is, if they want it they'll get it. >:(
Contractors around our way lost a lot of garden equipment from a steel storage container. It had a flush lock fitted to protect against bolt cutters so the thieves just fired up a cutter.
-
Circumstances like this make me think that the yanks have got it right. See someone suspicious on your property and shout "don't move a muscle or I,ll blow your effin head off". If they deviate from that, blow their effin head off.
Simple instant justice. :)

And when they do catch them what do the courts do? very little from what I read in the local papers and they seem to be repeat offenders! what are the beaks up to?? >:( >:(

oppsing scumbags >:(

You could pay more tax and send more to prison ::)

You could invite them down to Brakkers and let them try their luck in your Garage! :-X ::)
In all seriousness, these scumbags will eventually break into the wrong place. Hope some of it gets recovered.

Short of parking them in the kitchen, probably as secure as reasonably possible - brick built "shed" (more like a garage) with multiple locks.
Its not the first time, and doubt it will be the last, for either Mum or little bro. And Mum has had the house done before as well. I suspect the they had eyed up previously, as they seemed to know where stuff was, and where the cameras were.
I too believe in shooting them, along with any do-gooder who says otherwise. We all have to do honest work, why do some feel they shouldn't have to.
As for prison HTK, nah, a bullet is cheaper, and fully resolves the issue.
-
I hope you get a decent resolution out of this. Firkin scumbags, a bullet is worth more than they are.

A bit after the fact I know but is the house alarmed ?

As has been said if they want it the freeloading scumbags will have it.Taking security precautions is of course a very wise move, but how far do you go with such things before you become a virtual prisoner in your own home?

Know what you mean and had the same conversation with my customers on many a occasion.
Imo, decent locks, a good quality alarm and good lighting should do the job :y
As said on previous posts, Cctv it great providing the stuff will work in low light conditions :y
I wont mention what I did to secure a mates garage door hinges / top hasp and sable last year but i'll tell you that I used ...............
1 x 13amp plug with just one wire into the live.
A wireless remote switch from B&Q.
:-X :-X

That thought occurs to quite a few people, until they realise that they could be up on a murder charge.

That weekend, he was propping up the bar in his local when he over heard 2 little scrotes talking about "a little tingle" they had got ::)
Lets just say that it was sorted there and then :-X

He was lucky, then.

TG, in the interests of safety, make sure that there is a good earth connection under where any miscreant might stand, to ensure full effectiveness of your security "tingle".......

Since its largely grass / mud outside the doors, I did (for a second) consider laying some chicken wire in the grass and supplying a discrete earth wire back to the remote controlled socket but as our incontinent fellow OOFer says, it could have led to a murder change ::)
Given the nature of the return path, I highly doubt the potential reached anything like lethal levels.
In fact, it was probably more along the lines of what the farmers use to coral livestock ;)
Did the trick though ;D

Yup, after the house was broken into a few years ago.

Depending on what panel was fitted, spare zones ect, is it worth sticking a stand alone wireless duel tech or quad passive in the out building.
Setup as door chime during the day and alarm during the night ?

That would mean paying ADT an awful lot of money...

If TB can keep this forum running, i'm sure he can tailor design and install a system in his mums house :-\
Not a fan of ADT's domestic stuff personally and even less a fan of there (at least around here) dickhead so called engineers but the nice glossy adverts on the TV and 99 quid down payment was popular until you read the small print :-X
Plenty of decent stuff out there, you also have the option of speech diallers / gsm if they is a problem at the house with the added bonus of not paying stupid amounts for the so called monitoring :-X
After 24 years in and out of the game, i've even found a wireless system that I trust too :)
All depends of TB's mum of course
If she is anything like mine, you cant tell her anything and god help you if you try ;D ;D :D

Needs to be professionally monitored, as no point it calling her mobile if she's away (plus the wider area is notoriously shite for all mobile networks). I think the insurance have that stipulation as well, although its been a while since the house itself was broken in to, so that might not be a requirement any more. But it gives her piece of mind anyway.
Yes, I'd have no trouble fitting an alarm for her (though not in her house due to her utter daft thing about all wires must be completely hidden), but doesn't meet her needs. So ADT got that one a while back. And because its monitored and fully managed remotely by them, I can't add in another zone for the garage and outbuildings, they would have to do it.
She might not be so concerned about garage and outbuildings, so might get away with a separate DIY option which I'd happily buy and fit.
Currently looking at CCTV options for my eldest bro's refurbed shop, and there is a lot of interesting kit out there now, and even full IP recording solutions are quite affordable. But as little bro has found out, if the scumbags have cased the joint before, CCTV is useless if they know where the cameras are.

For future reference, Visonic do various wireless kits from about 200 quid which will includes a wireless bellbox, 2 passives, 1 mag door contact, Panel with 2 remotes and 2 prox fobs. All bits and bobs except the fobs are already programmed up so just run a power cable to the panel and fit the accessories :y
The panel has a built in speech dialler so will ring the numbers that you know will answer the phone and do something about it if there is a problem :y
Also accepts panic pendants etc.
As said before, I avoided wireless like the plague to the extent the I definitely lost work over the years but the newer 868 MHz narrow band stuff is very reliable :y
What sort of stuff does your bro's shop sell ?

I am the contact for a neighbors monitored alarm system. Recently I received the automated call that the alarm had been triggered. I knew why, as he had the decorators in while he was away, however I went round and checked, everything OK, and rang the company to advise. Thanks very much she said. End of... so I thought. An hour later I had another automated call. Checked again, everything OK, rang the number, very suspicious that this was a repeat call for the previous alarm, and so it proved. Turns out that when I first called, she Emailed the appropriate dept.!!! Who clearly had not read the 'All clear' email and cancelled the alarm, and so the automated call was re-triggered!!!
I did politely point out to the agent that I thought any self-respecting burglar could have cleared the house of valuables in an hour, so what was the point of having a monitored system. ??? >:( >:( >:(
