Not sure if they could track it, possible or maybe via the phone company. Not sure whether the Police would go to all that effort though?

Do you have a house hold insurance policy?

If you do, check what it covers as you may be able to claim (less excess) for the lost cash etc

If you were feeling really down, within reason, that is actually a legitimate reason to not be able to attend work and if your employer values you, they won't penalise you for that at all.

iirc the working time regulations state that if you work 7 days one week you can only do 5 days the following week.also you should have an 11 hour break between shifts.

its not as simple as that when your self employed and working from an agency, i had a go once before about the hs i was doing at heathrow, did a ghoster(24 hr shift) 1 night and then back in 5 hrs later. i was laid off 2 days later and they got someone else.

Agencies are no longer exempt from the working time directive! They must comply with the law. If they don't you can take them to a tribunal. Having said that... I know the position you are in and sympathise!

Boy your having it rough m8 do sympathise really do, just got to believe your luck will change & it will come good pretty soon, try not to get too down ...Maybe you need to try some other profession get out from the agency thing (obviously dont know what you actually do for a living) as there are agencies for every type of job these days, i know they pay more but often the benefits of working for a company , pensions ,hols etc  even it up well it did in my job HGV there was often a guy leaving the agency to join our firm, just a thought !

Yes but, the individual can still opt out.....so check the contracts you have signed!

I was under the impression (when I was running an agency for drivers 4 years ago) that the opt out clause was no longer a legal option!

Just my thoughts and I don't know whether I'm right or not... :-/ :-/ :-/

the last time i had holiday pay and sick pay was 1983  when i became self employed. ive thought about other jobs but i cant find any i can do that pay as much as i get now. i shall probably pack up construction work when im 50, will not have to pay x any money then as kids will be left school so wont have as much to pay out. as i havent had a proper holiday in 15 yrs i will have a good few then  :) :) :), only 3 yrs to go  ::) ::)

i think constructionis going to be pretty dead for a while anyway rich,it has had its boom and is now going bust by the look of it.the company i worked in for the last 20 years makes prestressed concrete floors and has had a long period of being awash with money,in the last year it has ended up on its knees (and i have ended up jobless)
it may be worth looking into some kind of re-training in the not to distant. especially if you could re-train to do something that you enjoy doing. i have been thinking along those lines myself, but it is easier said than done.
