Sure does, from the pennies come the pounds as my old Nan used to say.

A quick bit of maths throws up a figure of an extra £150 of interest from one account.....still a poor return but better than a knee to the groin.

I'd prefer a knee to the groin, but that's just me  :)

And how much are you willing to pay for such a service?

From a personal point of view I actually agree with you both, well, the Stemo thing and the knee in the groin bit, but as for the rest of it, dont have a clue what your talking about.  ;D

It certainly does, but it all depends on the % rate of interest.  A building society I used to used to pay 6.5% and it now pays 1.3% so the tax change makes a diffirence (but as paul Daniels used to say but "not a lot")

No tax on savings interest from April. Up to £1000 for most, but only £500 for the likes of Opti.

Ah, right, kinda get it, so what your saying is any money leftover from paying bills, food and shite, you actually  give to a Bank for them to hold onto.

That will never catch on, well not with living down South and what money I earn anyway.  :(

Georgie Boy is on pretty safe ground. In order to earn £1000 of interest you need to have a fair old wedge put away.

The Nationwide loyalty saver (for valued customers only ;D ;D) now offers a piss poor 1.2% instead of a pathetic 0.9%.

Correct. Which is why Osborne has done it........it won't cost much to implement.

Does that make the cash so sticky nobody will accept it?

No....sticky cash comes from not washing your hands after enjoying the pleasures of the palm. :)

I live in Barnsley, you're not allowed to be a Tory up here. Anyone who wears a suit or looks remotely shiny is soundly beaten, bummed and sent on their way.
(We had to stop bumming them for a while as they kept coming back with an 'I am a Tory' sign around their neck. But now we do it with a pineapple, they've stopped coming).  :)
