Title: timing chains
Post by: raywilb on 06 April 2016, 20:16:59
regards previous thread my mates demise made me start to think. when I first start my from cold there is a definite rattle from timing chain. when I first got this mig my first job was to give it a service, fuel, oil , air & pollen & it was quite evident that the last owner didn't bother. having never done a timing chain I would need guidance on a how to. I would be willing to travel to have it sorted & if its not a days fix job I would b&b it for a night, it may be that I am concerned for nothing i just don't know. :-\ :y

Well update is I have bought a locking tool so all I need is to find out what to do, & if it really does need doing. I'm sure the tool will not go amiss. in York we used to have a guy that traded as the " Diesel Man " but he got flooded out & does not seem to be trading now., so he is not available to pick his brains.
